Joseph L. Boyer

Joseph L. Boyer, age 83 of Aspers, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home in Aspers, surrounded by his family.He was born Tuesday, April 3, 1934 in Biglerville, the son of the late Joseph S. And Utha E. (VanDyke) Boyer. Joe was self-employed for the majority of his life at Boyer's Sharpening Service. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Biglerville and the Marine Corps League in Gettysburg. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Howery Boyer, daughters, Shelley L. Decker, Donna L. Roth and Jamie L. Parker, and grandsons, Matt Decker, Brian Decker, Jared Roth, James Parker, and Robert Parker. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin Street, Biglerville with Pastor Susan McCarthy officiating.Inurnment will be private in Oaklawn Cemetery in Gettysburg.
