Albert F. Keer

September 28, 1932 — February 15, 2024

Albert F. Keer, age 91, of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Mercy House in Chambersburg. He was born Wednesday, September 28, 1932 in Staten Island, NY, the son of the late Edward J. and Mary R. (Smith) Keer.


Al retired from Letterkenny Army Depot where he served as Communications Director until 1987. He served in the US Air Force from 1949 until 1970 and the US Army from 1970 to 1977. Al drove school bus for McBeth Transportation for many years. He was a member of Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg American Legion Post 223, Laguardia Lodge 1130 Free and Accepted Masons in Staten Island, NY and Valley of NYC Consistory.


He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arlene R. (Burton) Keer. He is also survived by three daughters, Cynthia A. Hockenberry and companion Kevin Wolford of Shippensburg, Patricia L. and husband Marc Weibley of Waynesboro, Carolyn R. Keer and husband David Waxman of Medford Lakes, NJ, three grandsons, Taran Hockenberry, Connor Weibley and Logan Weibley, 2 great-grandchildren, Bentlee Hockenberry and Brooks Hockenberry, one sister, Elsie J. Quintero, Vero Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Edward J. Keer and sister, Ellen Russo.


Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 20, at Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, 135 Middle Spring Rd., Shippensburg, with Rev. Edward Blank officiating. Interment will be in Middle Spring Church Cemetery with military honors provided by Shippensburg American Legion Post 223. A Viewing will be held on Monday, February 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, and also at the church on Tuesday, February 20, from 10:00 AM until the time of Services.


Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy House, 730 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA. 17201. Friends may express online condolences at DuganFH.com.
