Alfred B. Guyer, Jr., passed away on October 25, 2016 at the age of 88. Al retired from Conrail. After spending the majority of his life in Altoona, he then moved to Shippensburg, PA and passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital. Al was also a retiree from the combined services of the Army Reserves and the Army National Guard, and played trombone in the 28th Division Band. He was a long time member of the Unter Uns Society Club in Altoona prior to moving. He is survived by his 2nd wife, Marjorie Guyer. He is also survived by his five living children, Alfred B. Guyer, III "Skip" and his wife Sheila, their daughters, Amanda Craig (Jeremiah), Kim and Sarah; Jeffrey A. Guyer and his wife Peggy and their four children, Don Smith, Amy Wooten (Scott), BJ Ross, and Jeffrey A. Guyer, II (Mary); David W. Guyer, Karen Loughridge and their children Jennifer and David W. Guyer, Jr.; Lee Ann Hoover and her husband Randy and their two daughters, Courtney and Chelsey; Christie L. Snider and her two sons, Alexander and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Joan M. Guyer and infant daughter, Sally Jo. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Lauren Wooten, Jeremiah and Anthony Craig, Gavin and Laney Ross and Ryan Guyer. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. There will be a private interment at Blair Memorial Park.
