Anne M. Heller

Anne M. Heller, age 66 of Gardners, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born Tuesday, April 29, 1947 in Gardners, the daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Edna M. (Starner) Sowers. Anne graduated from Bermudian Springs High School in 1965. She retired after 31� years of service to the Commonwealth of PA Department of Education to care for her mother who was suffering from Alzheimer's. During her employ with the Department of Education, she received the Employee of the Year Award. She was a member of Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church and Sunday school, Upper Bermudian Ladies Aid Society, LSS Gettysburg Chapter Auxiliary, York Springs Fire Comp. Auxiliary and Gettysburg Region Antique Automobile Club of America. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Barry E. Heller. She is also survived two brothers: Roger K. and wife Bonnie Sowers and Ted E. and wife Joyce Sowers, all of Gardners, four nieces, three nephews, four great-nieces, two great-nephews, one great step-niece, two great-great-step-nephews. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church, 185 Ground Oak Church Road, Gardners with Reverend David Clark officiating. Interment will be in Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at Dugan Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday at the church from 11:00 AM until time of services.
