Arlene L. (Slaybaugh-Knight) Shrader, age 76, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 surrounded by her family at home after a battle with cancer. She was born August 19, 1944 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of the late Myrl T. and Mary E. (Shaffer) Slaybaugh. Arlene graduated in the Class of 1962 from Chambersburg High School. She worked as a typesetter for TC Systems in Shippensburg. She was previously a member of Grace Bible Church in Greencastle and a current member of the First Assembly of God in Shippensburg. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing piano and leading worship at church. She also enjoyed reading and helped set up two church libraries. She was passionately involved in Pregnancy Ministries and Bible Release Time with several schools in the area. Arlene is survived by her husband of six years, William E. Shrader, Sr. of Shippensburg; two sons, Daniel B. and his wife, Norma Knight of Boyce, VA and Michael B. and his wife, Natalie Knight of Greencastle; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with three more on the way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband who passed in 2003, R. Brooks Knight. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 8 at Grace Bible Church, 2327 Hoffman Road, Greencastle, with Pastor J. Herman Fisler and Pastor Timothy Beitzel officiating. A Viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 7 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. A Viewing will also be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services. Interment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, Chambersburg.
