Austin R. Springer

Austin Robert Springer of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019. He was born Thursday, June 1, 1995 in Chambersburg, the son of Dave and Jackie (Bowers) Springer. Austin was a graduate of Shippensburg Area High School where he was a member of the varsity basketball and golf teams. He attended Shippensburg University and American Public University. Austin was employed by Friendship Auto Service in Harrisburg. He had a love for music and enjoyed basketball, golfing, collecting Air Jordans and working on cars. He especially enjoyed traveling to the NCAA Final Four each year with his parents, which he did since the age of three. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Austin. His tender heart and infectious smile attracted people wherever he went. A loyal friend, Austin was always there when someone needed him, supporting them and standing by their side through good times and bad. Austin was a courageous young man who faced adversity and endured it with dignity, humility and acceptance. In addition to his parents, Austin is survived by his grandparents; Herb and Chris Bowers of Shippensburg and Dale and Barbara Springer of Florida. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles who include Bob and Jennifer Springer; Candy and Gary Jones; Debbie and Dennis Chavoya; Joy and Dan Smith; Sherri and Scott Boschert; Christy and Starr Springer; and Jennie and Michael Harris; as well as many cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Marcia Williams. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Shippensburg with Pastor Jim Schambach officiating.
