Barbara A. Bream

Barbara A. Bream, age 80 of Gettysburg, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born Tuesday, June 21, 1938 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Lynn S. and Margaret I. (Stahl) Freed. Barbara graduated from Biglerville High School. She was a homemaker for a short time. She worked as a Nurses Aid for several years. At the age of 50, she started her college degree at HACC. She attained her dietician degree at the age of 52. She then worked for various nursing homes in the area as a dietician, well into her retirement. She is survived by two sons, David M. Carbaugh of Aspers, George M. "Marty" Carbaugh of York, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother Terry Freed of Aspers. She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Staub. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. In honoring Barb's wishes, her remains were donated to Humanities Gift Registry.
