Barbara L. Day

Barbara L. Day, age 79 of Gardners, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Transitions Health Care. She was born Sunday, April 19, 1936 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Dale D. and Helen (Spangler) Slaybaugh. Barb graduated from Biglerville High School in 1954. She was formerly employed by C.H. Musselman's, now Knouse Foods for 20 years. She was a member of Hanover Foursquare Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going on mission trips with her church to Mexico. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald W. Day. She is also survived by two daughters, Kathy D. and husband Jay Galloway of Gardners, Linda S. and husband Jay Heebner of Gardners, a son, Gregory A. and wife Mindy Day of McSherrystown, seven grandchildren, Andy and Matt Day of McSherrystown, Alicia Marx of North Augusta, Ontario, Angel Slabach of Cleona, Josh Galloway of Gardners, Jennifer Ruth of Spring Grove, and Holly Rosensteel of Bendersville, eleven great-grandchildren, and one step-great-granddaughter and a brother, Laurin Slaybaugh of Selinsgrove. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 18 at Dugan Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Orewiler officiating. Assisting Pastor Kevin will be Jay Heebner and Chad Slabach. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday March 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
