Barbara E. Trindel

Barbara E. Trindel, age 78 of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Green Ridge Village in Newville. She was born Saturday, August 20, 1938 in Altoona, the daughter of the late William D. and Rebecca (Reed) Barroner. Barbara graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1956. She was a member of Shippensburg Civic Club. Barb had a love of horses and in her younger years, she enjoyed riding with her family and friends. She loved to draw and sketch. She also sang with various choral groups in the Shippensburg area. Her husband, John R. Trindel, Sr. passed in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Julie A. Cassidy of Newville, two sons, John R. Trindel, Jr. of Shippensburg, Jeffrey S. Trindel of Chambersburg, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Barroner, who was her dearest friend. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28 at 2:00 PM at New Saint Marys Cemetery in Hollidaysburg, PA with Monsignor Stanley B. Carson presiding. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Barbara was best known for her kind heart and love of nature.
