Betty-Lou Nadine (Bowers)Dove, age 77, of York Springs died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in the Gettysburg Hospital. She was born Sunday, March 12, 1933 in Gettysburg the daughter of the late Clyde G. and Edith L. (Fidler) Bowers. Betty-Lou graduated from Biglerville High School in 1952. Shewas formerly employed by United Telephone as a chief operator in York Springs for several years in the 1950's and as an operator in Biglerville in 1953. She had been a retail clerk for Weiser Orchard Fruit Stand in York Springs for 32 years and served as an assistant tax assessor for Adams County.She was a lifelong member of Benders Evangelical Lutheran Church in Biglerville whereshe served as Sunday School Superintendent and wasa Sunday School teacher for many years. She wasa member of York Springs Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband Charles J. Dove to whom she was married for 56 years. She isalso survived by her daughter, Glenda L. Dove, York Springs, her son, Charles G. Dove and wife M. Susan of Franklintown; a sister, D. Jean Guise, Gettysburg; grandson Joshua D. Dove of Reading, granddaughter Davina J. Roberts of Clearfield and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Justine E. Bowers. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 31 in Benders Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1385 Rentzel Road, Biglerville with the Reverend Susan J. McCarthy officiating. Interment will be in Benders Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30AM until time of services on Saturday in Benders Evangelical Lutheran Church.
