Betty Warner

Betty Frances Warner, 87 of Biglerville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April, 26, 2025, at her home. She was born on Friday, November 19, 1937, in Gettysburg PA. She was the daughter of the late Arthur H. and Nora (Fogle) Starry. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Warner, who passed in 1987.


Betty grew up on the family farm in Aspers, PA. During her childhood she walked with her brother Fred to Center Mills One-Room School House. She graduated from Biglerville High School Class of 1955 and received her RN degree in 1958 from the Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing. She pursued her nursing career in the operating room at Annie M. Warner Hospital and later earned her certification as a nurse anesthetist from the Harrisburg School of Anesthesia. Betty was employed by Harrisburg Hospital for over thirty years as a CRNA.


Betty was an avid gardener and loved spending time working in her flower beds that were filled with a variety of colorful blooms. She was a member of the National and Pennsylvania Garden Clubs and a former National Flower Show judge. Betty was also a member of the Biglerville Garden Club where she was the chairman of its first standard flower show. She was a spectacular seamstress, talented knitter having created many awe-inspiring sweaters gifted to her friends and family.


Betty is survived by her two sons, David L. Warner of Biglerville, Donald E. Warner and wife Kathy of Biglerville, two brothers, Stanley Starry and wife Susie of York Springs, Douglas Starry and wife Chris of Gettysburg; and stepbrother Fred Starry of Livermore, CA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Reba M. Warrenfeltz; brother, Arthur R. Starry, stepsister Arlene Kump and stepbrother Donald H. Starry.
