Bettye L. (Bondurant) Wetzel, age 73 of Gettysburg, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born Wednesday, July 3, 1940 in Ellwood City, the daughter of the late Harry C. and Helen F. (Havens) Bondurant. Bettye was formerly employed by Herff-Jones in Gettysburg for 14 years. She was also formerly employed by Knouse Foods and C.H. Musselman Co. She was a member of Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Gettysburg. She was an avid reader. She was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert D. Wetzel. She is also survived by two sons: Joseph A. and wife Debbie (Dugan) Wetzel of Landisville and James H. Wetzel and the late Joan (Baxter) Wetzel of Terre Hill; two grandsons, Benjamin J. Wetzel of South Bend, IN and Christopher A. Wetzel of Charlottesville, VA; a granddaughter, Carlie N. Wetzel of Landisville, three sisters: Rebecca J. Winchester of Lake City, FL, Brenda A. Simaitis of Bowie, MD, Barbara S. Forquer of Martinsburg, WV; two brothers: Robert H. Bondurant of Cape May Courthouse, NJ and William N. Bondurant of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Danielle E. Wetzel in 2002. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 8, at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church,20 W. High Street, Gettysburg with Reverend Stephen Harrisofficiating.Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.A viewing will be held Monday at the church from 9:30AM until time of services.
