Bonnie L. Meckl-Helman

Bonnie Lee Meckl-Helman, age 77, of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born March 1, 1943 in Michigan, the daughter of the late William Ovink and EthelMae (Timm) Fox. Bonnie worked at Bon-Ton for 10 years and enjoyed flowers and gardening, especially geraniums. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Gene D. Helman, Sr; one daughter, Michele (David) Meuse of Maryland; two sons, William (Dawn) Meckl of Waynesboro, and Steven (Mayra) Meckl of Virginia; five step-children, Niki (Tony) Summers, Ralph (Chris) Helman, Gene Helman Jr. (Kriss), Chester (Debra) Helman, and Waylon (Dawn) Helman; one brother, Roger (Jennifer) Ovink, of Washington state; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Services will be held at the discretion of the family.
