Carl (Red) F. Brandt, Sr, age 77 of Shippensburg died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg. Carl was born March 22, 1933 at Centerville, PA, the son of the late Clyde and Daisy Brandt. He attended Carlisle High School and worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for 33 years before retiring in 1984. He also worked for Pen-Mar Wash Gas in Shippensburg for many years. Carl served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He attended the First Assembly of God in Shippensburg. He was an avid sport person involved in little league, midget football, caring for the field for the As and Star team. He loved going to auto races to see his grandson race. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Allen) Brandt whom he married on August 6, 1954. He is also survived by two sons Bud Brandt and wife Michelle, and Timothy E. Brandt both of Shippensburg , his daughter Susie J. Walls and husband Richard, St. Thomas; three grandsons: Todd Brandt and wife Megan, Keith Walls, Rodney Walls and Megan Rohler; two step-grandchildren: Steve and Amber Dunson (Marshall Daihl); two great-grandsons: Gunner Lee Wayne Walls, and Blake Tucker Daihl. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Baer. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. in Shippensburg. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 23 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with the Reverend Daniel E. Cluck officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. A viewing will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. A viewing will also be held Friday at 1:00 PM until time of services.
