Carolyn L. Himes

Carolyn L. Himes, age 87 of Biglerville, passed away December 26, 2024 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was born June 16, 1937 in Gettysburg to the late Lester J. and Susan A. (Hinkle) Roth.

Carolyn was a 1955 graduate of Biglerville High School and retired from Schindler Elevator after many years of service. She attended Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church in Guernsey. She was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary in Fairfield. She was very creative and enjoyed crafting and trying new recipes. She was a loving lady who was always on the go and loved to keep busy, especially attending all the activities of her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Himes, Sr. of Biglerville; daughter, Denise McCauslin and husband, Tom of Fayetteville; son, Bradley Currens and wife Margaret of Decatur, GA; step-children, Donald L. Himes, Jr of Biglerville and Deborah Shumate and husband, Sam of Biglerville; grandchildren, Nicole Dunn and husband, Charles and Brandon McCauslin and wife, Ann; step-grandchildren, Wendy Knox, Nicki Vaassan and Clayton Himes; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jada and Eli Dunn, and Elijah and Kayla McCauslin; step-great-grandchildren, Kasey Vaassan, Morgan Kelly, Colin Knox, Mason Knox and Ava Knox; step-great-great-grandchildren, Charly and Aria and sister, Barbara Mentzer of Gardners. Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Sharon Naugle and Mary Jane Kistler and brothers, Richard, Dean and Lester Roth.
