Catherine Sue Bowers

Catherine S. (Miller) Bowers, age 52 of Shippensburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. She was born Saturday, July 16, 1966 in Chambersburg, the daughter of David L. Miller, Jr., and Bertie (Archambeau) Miller. Family and friends knew her affectionately as Cathy. Cathy graduated from Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She was the Director for Maranatha-Carlisle Financial Guidance Ministry. She is a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church in Chambersburg. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed camping and cooking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and dog, Lacey. In addition to her parents, Cathy is survived by her husband, of nearly 29 years, Tod J. Bowers. She is also survived by two sons, Jacob (20) and Nicholas (18) Bowers, both of Shippensburg, her sister, Tracy Brown and her husband, Jim of York and her brother, David Miller and his wife, Lisa of Shippensburg. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 19 at Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Rd., Chambersburg with Pastor Jim Bolich officiating. A visitation for family and friends will start at 6:00 PM with light refreshments to follow the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cathy’s life.
