Charlene L. Atha, age 76 of Aspers, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at SpiriTrust Home in Gettysburg. She was born Wednesday, May 14, 1941 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Charles R. Sr. and Ruth V. (Ritenour) Pryor. Charlene graduated from Biglerville High School in 1959. She was formerly employed by Cadbury Beverages, formerly Duffy Motts, for many years, retiring in 2002. Her former employment included picking strawberries, working at Mt. Orchard Co-Op, Dal-Tile and Pfaltzgraff Tile and Knouse Foods. She was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Aspers, where she served on the Alter Guild, Church Council and Care and Share Committee. She also sang in the church choir. She enjoyed plastic canvas, painting, feeding and watching birds, gardening and singing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Clinton E. Atha, Sr. She is also survived by daughters, Karen L. and husband Dennis Carey of Bendersville, Christine L. and husband Claudio Ascencio of Biglerville, son, Michael C. and wife Dixie Atha of Aspers, eight grandchildren: Clinton S. Baker, Ann Marie Atha, Nicole L. Carey, Felipe M. Caloca, Ashley D. Atha, Shawn M. Atha, Adam A. Ascencio, John M. Ascencio, two great-grandchildren, Tori Baker and Hailey Baker, two sisters, Sharlie Deschaines of Tucson, AZ, Helen Daniels of Gardners, and brother, Richard Pryor of Carlisle, She was preceded in death by her son Clinton E. Atha, Jr, in 1991 and brother Charles R. Pryor. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street Bendersville. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 1420 Centre Mills Road, Aspers with Reverend B. Wesley Smith III officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, PO Box 165, Aspers, PA 17304.
