Bob Binkley

Charles “Bob” Robert Binkley, age 80, of Arendtsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Paramount Nursing and Rehab in Fayetteville. He was born September 22, 1943 in Reading the son of the late Charles Victor and Jeannette (Hoffman) Binkley.

Bob graduated in the Class of 1961 Garden Spot High School. In 1965, he graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In 1974, he went onto graduate with a Master of Science Degree from University of Maryland. Finally, in 1980, graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science from University of Maryland. Bob retired from being the Vice President of Technical Services from Knouse Foods after working there for 43 years.

Bob was a 50-year member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Arendtsville and a lifetime member of Arendtsville Fire Company and Adams County Fish and Game Association. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, tennis, and most of all, spending time with his special grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all were a light in his life.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce (Wetzler) Binkley of Arendtsville; daughter, Julianne Hertz and her husband, Joshua of Arendtsville; two sons, Robert Todd Binkley and his wife, Robin of New Castle, DE and Michael Alan Binkley and his wife, Michele of Biglerville; seven grandchildren, Claire, Jacob, Shane, Samantha, Noah, Mark and Zoe and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Charlotte and Rose. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Linda.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Private Graveside Services will be at the convenience of the family.
