Charles C. Fritz, age 72 of Gettysburg, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Wednesday, August 4, 1943 in Gettysburg the son of the late Clarence C. and Freda F. (Baker) Fritz. Charlie graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1961. He attended the police academy in Hershey. He was formerly employed by Gettysburg Borough Police Department for 28 years. He also drove bus in the Gettysburg School District for Judy Woerner. He also managed the Gettysburg West Apartments. He was a member of Flohrs Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as president of church council for five years. He is currently treasurer of the church cemetery. He was also a member of Elks of Gettysburg, Eagles of Gettysburg, Outcast Hunting Lodge, Adams County Fish and Game, Blue Ridge Summit Fish and Game. Charlie was a member of the Gettysburg Fire Department, where he drove ambulance for many years. Charlie loved Nascar and sprint car racing, hunting, fishing and attending local sportsman's feeds. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie A. (Price) Fritz. He is also survived by five daughters, Holly D. and husband David Perlberg of KS, Jodie D. and husband Raymond Slothour, Jr of New Oxford, Temple C. and husband Graham Wilkes of MS, Wendy L. and husband Ronald Clapsaddle of Gettysburg, Nicole B. and husband James Harris of Waynesboro, one son, Craig C. Fritz of CA, eight grandchildren: Makenzie Bullock, Kelsey Harris, David Perlberg, Jr., Tyler Clapsaddle, Brendan Jones, Joshua Clapsaddle, Ashlea Clapsaddle, Bryce Harris, two sisters, Delores Throne of York, Francis Welch of Florida. He was preceded in death by sister Bernette Fritz. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 16, at Flohrs Evangelical Lutheran Church, 595 Flohr's Church Road, McKnightstown with Reverend Thomas Darr officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Flohrs Evangelical Lutheran Church and also on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
