Charles "Leon" Coover

Charles Leon Coover, age 87 of Shippensburg, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Shippensburg Healthcare Center. He was born Monday, January 19, 1925 in Shippensburg, the son of the late Jacob H. and Nellie (Fogelsanger) Coover, Jr. Leon, along with his brother, owned and operated Coover's Radio Service in Shippensburg for many years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Shippensburg. He was a former member of the American Legion and VFW of Shippensburg. He served as a radio operator in a B-29 bomber in the U.S. Army during World War II. His wife Kathryn R. Coover died January 19, 2012. He is survived by two sons: Tracy C. and wife Debra Coover and Randall L. and wife Tina, all of Shippensburg; five grandchildren: Brandon, Morgan, Tyler, Madison and Makenzie Coover, all of Shippensburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ray F. Coover. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, October 12, 2012 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg with Reverends Kim and Derek Wadlington officiating.
