Charles Pittman Moyer, Sr., age 89, of Biglerville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024 surrounded by his family at his home in Biglerville. He was born March 11, 1935 in Luray, Virginia, as the son of the late John Oliver Moyer, Sr. and Julia Bell (Zirkel) Moyer.
Charles attended York High School in his early life. He was employed by York Building Products and formerly, York Stone Quarry as a Machine Operator for 50 years. He was a member of Paradise Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thomasville, PA. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed tractors, talking with people and working around his yard. He built his home from scratch and was very proud of his hard work and his homestead.
Charles is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruby (Mummert) Moyer; daughter, Cynthia Wileman of Biglerville; two sons, Charles Pittman Moyer, Jr. of York and Jeffery Emmanuel Moyer of Thomasville; four grandchildren; Kyle, Shelby, Nicole and Aaron; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his twin children, Salvatore Emmanuel Moyer and Jeffery Alan Moyer and two brothers, John O. Moyer, Jr. and Paul Allen Moyer.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial Services are at the discretion of the family. Charles will be remembered in prayer during the worship service on Sunday, October 20, 2024, flower contributions may be made in his memory to Paradise Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Rd, Thomasville, PA 17364.
