Charles W. Stoner, age 84, of Gettysburg, formerly of Aspers, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Golden Living in Gettysburg. He was bornThursday, February 19, 1931 in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County, the son of the late Chester H. and Phoebe J. (Chronister) Stoner. Charles was formerly employed by Knouse Foods, Peach Glenfor 20 years. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Mt. Holly Springs. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma M.(Slaybaugh) Stoner who died in May of 2010. He is survived by three sisters, Christine Alberts of Carlisle, Pearl Jumper of Mount Holly Springs, Lilly Hawkins of MO; a brother, Blaine Stoner of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Ann Stoner, Mary Dasher, five brothers:Ralph, Vernon, George, Pharis, and Chester Leroy, Jr. Stoner. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 25 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend William Richwine officiating. Interment will be in Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday from 1:00 PM until time of services.
