Charles "Tom" T. Dils, age 76 of Carlisle, formerly of Shippensburg, passed through death into eternal life on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Forest Park Nursing Home in Carlisle. He is now absent from the body and at home with the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born Monday, September 6, 1937 in Smithfield, the son of the late Thomas R. and Thelma E. (Riffle) Dils. Charles graduated from German Township High School in McClelland Town in 1955. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology in 1961. He was formerly employed as the Manager of Quality Control for Alliant Tech Systems (formerly Honeywell Power Sources Center) in Horsham, PA. He attended Christian Bible Fellowship Church in Newville. Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed going out for lunches with his lifelong friend and wife, Joanne. He is survived by his wife, Joanne E. (Honsaker) Dils to whom he was married for 55 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Susan L. and husband Leon D'Agostino of Line Lexington, two sons, David T. and wife Monica Dils of Carlisle and Mark D. and wife Sue Dils of Ann Arbor, MI; six grandchildren, Lauren VanDerveer, Meghan and Taylor Dils of Carlisle, Leo and Josh D'Agostino of Line Lexington, Sarah Dils of Ann Arbor; two brothers, Ronald R. and wife Rita Dils of Greensboro and James L. and wife Brenda Dils of Greensburg. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Jim Moats officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Bible Fellowship Church, 49 Stamy Road, Newville, PA 17241.
