Charles Eugene Tranum, 71 of Orrtanna, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. Born on December 3, 1953, in Keyser, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Calvin Tranum and Bernadine Hopkins.
A proud truck driver of 50+ years, Charles brought a sense of adventure and passion to the open road, serving in the transportation industry with unwavering commitment. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy being outside hunting and often participating in outlaw shooting competitions. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1973-1977. He earned a national defense service metal, a Vietnam service metal with one bronze star.
Charles is survived by four children, Carrie Tranum, Troy Martin and his wife, Sharon, Cathy Martin, and John Martin and his wife, Janet; three sisters, Mary Bell, Della Tranum-Avers and her husband, Jerry, and Eileen Tranum-Bryan and her husband, Tom; a sister-in-law, Jenny Tranum; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Sonya; and one brother, John Tranum.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd. 111 S. Main Street in Bendersville. A memorial service is being offered at Mt Top Ministries, 200 Church Rd., Orrtanna at 1:00 PM on December 6, 2025.
