Charlotte L. Markley

Charlotte L. Markley, age 79 of Carlisle, passed away January 8, 2022 at ProMedica Health and Rehabilitation, Carlisle. She was born August 12, 1942 in Huntsville, the daughter of the late William F. Sr. and Erma R. (Sennett) Markley. Charlotte was a 1960 graduate of Big Spring High School and built motors for McCoy Electronics in Mt. Holly Springs and GS Electric in Carlisle. She loved Elvis, the Grand Ole Opry and gambling in Las Vegas. She also enjoyed touring with her best friend, Nancy Andrews. Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Pamela Markley-Thomas of Shippensburg; granddaughters, Heather Zimmerman of Lebanon and Carina Thomas and spouse, Lakiesha of Carlisle; great-grandsons, Brycen Thomas and Liam Thomas and her brother, William F, Jr. (Cinda) Markley of Carlisle. She is also survived by her best friend, Nancy Andrews of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Roger, Richard, Marlin and Kevin Markley. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, where a viewing will be held from 12:00 PM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022. Chaplain Troy Howle will officiate. Interment will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
