Cheryl Kathrine (King) Starner, age 75, of New Oxford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1949, in Hershey, PA and is the daughter of Donald and Kathrine (Paul) King. She was the wife of Rodney J. Starner, whom she married in the spring of 1986. At the time of Cheryl’s passing, they were married for almost 40 years.
Cheryl “Wild Thing” Starner grew up in Chambers Hill and graduated from Central Dauphin School District. Cheryl furthered her education at various technical schools, showcasing her desire to learn. Prior to retirement, she worked as a secretary for Penn National Insurance for over 34 years.
Cheryl was a woman of many unique talents and creativity. She enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and driving the pontoon boat. She was a “heck of a shot”. She was also an animal lover, and her heart remained devoted to her beloved feline buddy, Parker. Cheryl and Rodney took great pride in being Trump supporters and assisting with campaigns.
Cheryl is survived by her beloved husband and greatest friend, Rodney J. Starner; a daughter Janell Bush (Brian) and two exceptional grandchildren, Ethan and Jobia Bush. Cheryl loved profoundly and will be missed by all who knew her.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, where a viewing will be held on Saturday, March 01, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm and Pastor Wayne E. Galloway will officiate the service. Procession will follow services for her interment at The Pines Cemetery, New Oxford.
