Christopher C. Dickson, 61 of Alexandria, VA died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at his home. He was born Tuesday, May 15, 1951 in Salem, OH, the child of the late Donald W. and Winifred A. (Shelles) Dickson. Christopher graduated from Frostburg State University in 1977. He learned naval engineering on the job, working as a consultant to the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy, most recently with the Joint Strike Fighter team. He was employed as an engineer by Unified Industries Inc., Washington DC for eight years. He was a member of Friends of Point Lookout, Inc. who are dedicated to preserving Fort Lincoln in Southern Maryland. Chris was a talented military artist in his youth and enjoyed reenacting. An ardent exponent of living history with a number of Civil War related publications of original research to his credit, Chris had been a reenactor with Company C of the Federal Army. He is survived by one brother, Robert K. Dickson, Chambersburg, PA. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother, Daniel Dickson. Cremation services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg, PA. A celebration of Chris's life will be scheduled at a future date.
