Christopher A. Walter

Christopher A. Walter, age 62 of Aspers, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at his home. He was born Friday, December 25, 1953 in Tacoma Park, MD the son of the late Fred D. and Marguerite V. (Cooley) Walter. Christopher attended Blair High School in Silver Springs. He was formerly employed as tree crew leader for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission for 33 years. He enjoyed cooking, working on his old house in New Oxford, and restoring his 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 4WD truck. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna A. (Mawyer) Walter. He is also survived by a daughter, Christine V. and husband Richard Long, Jr. of New Oxford, a son, Richard D. and wife Samantha Walter of Mount Holly Springs, three grandchildren, Hunter Long, Autumn Long and Abigail Walter, a sister, Joan Compton of Wilmington, NC and a brother, Johnny Walter of Berkeley Springs, WV. He was preceded in death by brothers, Preston Walter, Mickey Walter and sister, Sis Roush. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. At the family's request, there will be no services.
