Clair R. Hikes

Clair R. Hikes, age 86, Gardners died Friday, May 28, 2010 athis home. He was born Wednesday, September 12, 1923 in York Springs the son of the late Elmer C. and Elsie (Bream) Hikes. Clair graduated from York Springs High School. He was formerly employed by Knouse Foods Inc. for 27 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arendtsville, Good Samaritan Masonic Lodge 336 of Gettysburg and the Connonaders Square Dance Group. His wife, the former Louise Walter, died October 24, 2005. He is survived by one son, Craig Hikes and wife Welen, of Gardners. and two sisters, Evelyn Waybright of Gettysburg and Ruth Baum of Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and George Hikes. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville.Private graveside serviceswill be held in the Greenmount Cemetery, Arendtsville.
