Clair R. Slaybaugh

Clair R. Slaybaugh, age 87 of Gardners, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Wednesday, March 11, 1925 in Gardners, the son of the late Mark W. and Elsie I. (Group) Slaybaugh. Clair was a carpenter/builder who built many homes in the Upper Adams area. He was a life member ofBendersville Fire Company. Clair enjoyed working in his garden raising many fruits and vegetables. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sarah E. (Shoemaker) Slaybaugh. He is also survived by two daughters: Vonnie M. Gilbert of Gettysburg and Patsy I. Miller of Simi Valley, CA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Woodrow, Norris, Glenn, Charles, Mark, and Paul. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 9 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend John M. Estes officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. A viewing will be held atthe funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
