Clyde E. Rotz, Jr., age 90, of Chambersburg, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Monday, December 21, 1931 in Shippensburg, the son of the late Clyde E. Rotz Sr. and Martha B. (Warren) Rotz.
Clyde was formerly employed as a locksmith by South Mountain Restoration Center for 15 years. Before SMRC, he worked 40+ years in the garment industry. He enjoyed hunting, racing and travelling. He was an accomplished carpenter building his own home and several other homes. He lived life to the fullest and was an excellent mentor to many. He was a member of the Shippensburg American Legion Post 223 and VFW Post 6168, and the Weslyan Church of Shippensburg. He served in the US Army as a corporal during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Betty L. (Snyder) Rotz. He is also survived by: his daughter, Sherry L. and husband Gary Rosenberry of Shippensburg, granddaughter Megan Shuman of Westminster, CA, two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Clyde Shuman and Lola Sharlee Shuman, and two sisters, Catherine Bigler and Grace Brown both of Shippensburg. He was preceded in death by his brothers Melvin Rotz, Carl Rotz, Bruce Rotz and Donald Rotz, and sisters, Margaret Hinkle and Edna O'Donnell.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 14, 2022 in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg with Reverend Richard Reese officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Shippensburg Minutemen of American Legion Post #223.
