D. Owen Taylor

D. Owen Taylor, age 83 of Biglerville, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare, Gettysburg Center. He was born Friday, January 22, 1932 in Franklin Township, Adams County, the son of the late Harold E. and Marie (Kuntz) Taylor. Owen graduated from Biglerville High School in 1950. He and his wife Kathleen owned and operated Taylor's Greenhouse outside Arendtsville for many years. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Arendtsville, a life member of the Arendtsville Fire Company and a past member of Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club. His wife, Kathleen M. (Starner) Taylor passed away in October of 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Karen E. and husband Craig Hocker of Biglerville, two sons, Donald R. and wife Linda Taylor of Biglerville and Timothy O. Taylor of Kansas City, MO, four grandchildren, Kurt and Kent Taylor, Kelly Hocker and Colin Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Zachary R. Taylor and Sophia M. Taylor, both of Biglerville and a sister, Elaine Ecker of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Snyder and brother Robert Taylor. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Kim Blocher officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 PM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Arendtsville Fire Company, P.O. Box 482, Arendtsville, PA 17303.
