Dale E. Grissom

Dale E. Grissom, age 79, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019, comforted by his family. He was born Monday, September 2, 1940 in Montrose, IL, the son of the late Joe Elmer and Josephine E. (Carter) Grissom. Dale graduated from Mattoon High School in 1958. He owned and operated Grissom's Heating and Cooling in Mattoon for several years. He served as a PFC in the US Army. He is survived by one daughter, Kelly J. Waters of Shippensburg, one son, Gregory D. Grissom of Mattoon, IL, four grandchildren, two sisters, Ellen and husband Don Clark of Jewett, IL, Hazel L. Elliott of Mattoon, IL, two brothers, Dean and wife Ruthie Grissom of Montrose, IL and Curtis J. Grissom of Mattoon, IL. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael L. Grissom of Mattoon, IL, one sister Ruth Croy and two brothers, Richard "Dick" Grissom and Don Grissom. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg.
