Dale E. Welty, age 54 of Gettysburg, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at his home. He was born on Thursday, September 19, 1963, in Gettysburg the son of the late Robert M. and Peggy J. (Davis) Welty. Dale attended Gettysburg High School. He drove truck for the past twenty years, including his time at Charles E. Brake Transportation and Generation Trucking in Chambersburg. He was an active member of Jireh Independent Baptist Church in Biglerville. Dale and his wife, Robin, were foster parents to many children in the South-Central Pennsylvania Region. He served in the Army National Guard for seventeen years and was activated for service from 1984-1985. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Robin S. (Leake) Welty. He is also survived by two daughters, Britney L. Welty of Chambersburg, Madilyn M. Welty of Gettysburg, a son, Joshua T. Leake of Gettysburg, eight grandchildren, Katelin Leake, Trenton Leake, Ciarra Leake, Michael Pereyra, Taylor Lady, Blake Lady, Kailee Richardson and Emma Green, three sisters, Doris Slusser of Gettysburg, Dianne Francis, Deborah Welty, and two brothers, Danny Welty, and Donald Welty, all of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara B. Welty and a brother, Duane E. Welty. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 9:00 AM in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville. Military honors will be provided by Adams County Allied Veterans. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 11:00 AM at Jireh Independent Baptist Church, 3086 Biglerville Road, Biglerville with Pastor Greg Keckler officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Jireh Independent Baptist Church, 3086 Biglerville Road, Biglerville, PA 17307.
