Dana R. Cummings

Dana Ray Cummings, age 72 of Shippensburg, passed away at Chambersburg Hospital on Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born Tuesday, November 23, 1943 in Roxbury, the son of the late Jay and Lydia (Holtry) Cummings. Dana attended Chambersburg Area Senior High School and was quite the football star. His career path started with Domestic Pump, Shippensburg, then Martin's Bakery, Chambersburg and Best Western, Carlisle before retiring in 2008. He will be remembered for his laughter, great sense of humor and love for his family. He saw the good in everyone and always had a smile to offer. A very spiritual individual and always had good advice for his family and friends surrounding him. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Penny (Shari) Cummings of Harrisburg and Kelly (Richard) Sanders of St. Thomas, son, Jonathan (Rochelle) Cummings of Harrisburg, two brothers, (twin) Dennis and Gary Cummings, two grandsons Denver and Raullen, two granddaughters, Sara and Annie, one step-grandson Dylan, three step-granddaughters, Breonna, Caitlin, Davida and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Paisley. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 14, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Monday. Burial will be private.
