Daniel L. Ball

Daniel L. Ball, age 89 of Aspers, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Gettysburg. Born Wednesday, March 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Pearl (High) Ball of Muncy, PA. He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Doersom) Ball of Aspers. He was a member of the PA National Guard for thirteen years obtaining the rank of Supply Sergeant. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Biglerville, a life member of the Heidlersburg Fire Company and the National Apple Museum, Biglerville Historical Society and Barnstormers. He was formerly employed by Inland Container in Biglerville for 35 years, retiring in 1989 and then worked for Weis Market in Gettysburg for 14 years. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Lula Ball of Muncy, brother-in-law, John C. Doersom of Gettysburg, niece, Sandra F. Ditzler of Carlisle and many other nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Dan was the last of eleven siblings. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Linda Summers officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery at the family's discretion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adams County SPCA,11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
