Darlene D. Currens, age 78 of Fayetteville, formerly of Gardners, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Village of Laurel Run. She was born Friday, May 21, 1937 in Gettysburg, the daughter of the late Donald L. and Ethel G. (Starner) Fetters. Darlene graduated from Biglerville High School in 1955. She was formerly employed by Gettysburg College for 32 years. She was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and Gettysburg Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She also sang in the Gettysburg Civic Chorus. Her first husband, Frank R. Cline passed in 1970 and her son Wayne V. Cline passed in 1990. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jay H. Currens. She is also survived by one stepdaughter, Denise E. McCauslin of Fayetteville and one stepson, Bradley J. Currens of Decatur, GA, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Kay Fetters of Gardners, Connie Trice of Gettysburg, Joyce Sowers of Gardners, and two brothers, Terry Fetters and Kenneth Fetters both of Gardners. She was preceded in death by a brother Clair Fetters. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 17 at Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Rick Robinson and Rev. Gary Fanus officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home on Monday, May 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Village of Laurel Run, 6375 Chambersburg Road, Fayetteville, PA 17325.
