David E. Bahr

David “Dave” E. Bahr, age 82, of Chambersburg, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 30, 1938 in Mattoon, WI, as the son of the late Edward W. and Blanche B. (Lorrig) Bahr. David was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and spent 13 months in Korea. He retired as a federal executive after spending approximately 33 years with the federal government. His last eight years were as the Civilian Deputy Commander of the U.S. Army Depot Systems Command, which had its headquarters in Chambersburg. David was a member of VFW in Chambersburg. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Julle E. (Bowers) Bahr of Shippensburg; two sons, William B. Bahr of Mansfield, TX and Gregory S. and his wife, Rachel Bahr of Fort Worth, TX and three grandchildren, Max Bahr, Brooklyn Bahr and Eva Bahr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bahr. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Public Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg with Lou Lurda officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard in Chambersburg.
