Davey Byers

David “Davey” C. Byers, age 66 of Gardners, passed away February 3, 2023 at home. He was born September 16, 1956 in Chambersburg to the late Stanley and Brenda (Gibbs) Byers.

Davey was a US Navy veteran and worked as an electrician at Letterkenny Army Dept and Mechanicsburg Naval Depot, retiring in 2011. He was a Life Member of Vigilant Hose Company holding various positions throughout his 50 years of service. He enjoyed being a firefighter especially working on, fixing, and driving the firetrucks. He was a member of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168. David enjoyed hunting and sharing his backyard wildlife photos with all his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Varner) Byers; son, Michael Byers; cousin, Danny (Cindy) Byers and sister-in-law, Donna (Tim) Stouffer.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, where a Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until time of Memorial Service at 6:00PM on Friday, February 10, 2023. Pastor Dave Erisman of South Mountain Chapel will officiate. Military honors provided by American Legion Post #223 will be conducted at the funeral home.
