David C. Helm

David C. Helm, 56, of Biglerville went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2012. He married the love of his life and best friend Elizabeth Helm of 34 years. Dave was a loving father of three sons: Matthew and wife, Mittie and granddaughter Kasey of Colorado, Adam Helm of Biglerville, and Joshua Helm of North Dakota. A good man, Dave would always make you smile and he will be forever missed. His final days were spent surrounded by close family and friends who were in some way or another touched by Dave's life. He graduated from Biglerville High School in 1974 and worked in the construction and trucking industry. Most recently he was employed by R. H. Crawford of Hanover. Dave was a member of the Heidlersburg United Brethren Church where he taught Sunday School and was a Member at Large for the Board. He coached Little League and AYSO Soccer. Dave enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles, shooting clay birds, working around his home, hunting, fishing, hiking, attending his sons sporting events, 4-H, Scouts, Band events and traveling with his family across America. Arrangements are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 23 at 1:30 PM at the Heidlersburg United Brethren Church, 2725 Heidlersburg Road, Gettysburg with Pastor Craig Loewen officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Heidlersburg United Brethren Church or Hospice/VNA of Hanover Spring Grove, Inc., 440 North Madison Street, Hanover.
