David W. McKee, age 82, of Shippensburg died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home with his loving family by his side.He was born Friday, January 20, 1928 in Hays Grove, a son of the late Wesley E. and Dorothy G. (Thomas) McKee. David retired from Cumberland County Office of Aging in 1990 where he had worked as a maintenance worker foreight years.Before working for Cumberland County, he was a mechanic for Cressler Trucking, Baumgardner Oil Company, Chambersburg Paper Mill and R.A. Bender. His wife Julia M. (Marks) McKee died July 29, 2007 after 58 years of marriage. He issurvived by five daughters: Emily Miley, Shippensburg, Dianna and husband Gary Hippensteel, Shippensburg, Sharon L. McKee, Shippensburg, Rose A. Lauver, Shippensburg, Debbie E. and husband David Conrad, Halifax; two sons: Gary L. and wife Roxann McKee, Newville, Daniel D. and wife Charla McKee, Shippensburg; three sisters: Margaret E. Fishel, Fayetteville, Dorothy G. Burkholder, Mechanicsburg, Linda G. Comerer, Shippensburg; two brothers: Robert H. McKee, Carlisle, Ronald L. McKee, Spring City, TN; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepmother Romaine Donnelly, brothers Donald and Wayne McKee and sisters Edna E. Barr, Helen M. VanDemark and Roxann J. Duncan. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 21 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with the Reverend Bruce Henneman officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 20 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Road, Ste 302, Carlisle, PA 17015.
