Delores J. Hammond

Delores J. Hammond, age 83 of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Laurel Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville. She was born Saturday, August 4, 1934 in Orbisonia, the daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Sarah J. (Laird) Hockenberry. Delores graduated from Fannett Metal High School. She was employed by Shippensburg Area School District at Nancy Grayson Elementary School as a cook and cafeteria manager for 28 years. She was also employed by Stanley Manufacturing as a seamstress. Delores was full of life and laughter. She was a people person and enjoyed meeting new faces. She loved to read, cook and travel, especially to California to see her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband, Clair L. Hammond, passed away in 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah D. and husband, Marvin Brimer of Palmdale, CA, two grandchildren, Ashley Christensen (Zach) and Tyler Brimer, three great-grandchildren, Jenna, Rylee, Raegan, two sisters, Fay Moser of Dry Run and Wanda Leab of Fort Loudon. She is preceded in death by her son, Darryl Hammond who passed in 2014. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Reverend Melissa Mankamyer officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to services on Thursday.
