Delphia "Rene" Laurene Tate

Delphia "Rene" Laurene Tate, age 92, of Gardners, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Gardners. She was born May 19, 1932 in Fisher, WV, as the daughter of the late Calvin and Velma Gladys (Ritchie) Bobo.

Rene graduated in the Class of 1951 from York Springs High School. She worked at Musselman’s in Gardners, was a teachers aid at Bendersville Elementary, and worked at McCoy Crystals factory in Mt. Holly Springs. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gettysburg, Red Hat Society, Adams County Farm Women and helped with Awana Children’s Ministry. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to NASCAR races, traveling, going with her friends to Miss America Pageants, and spending time with her family and grandkids.

Rene is also survived by her two sons, Neil Tate and his wife, Melanie of York Springs and Brad Tate and his wife, Danielle of Gardners; three grandchildren, Lexie, Derek and Wyatt; sister, Patsy Bobo; raised as a daughter, Debra Bowman and companion, Terry Mitzel, Sr. In addition to her parents, Rene was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Richard Eugene Tate and three sisters, Eula Borror, Janet Pappas and Barbara Villareal.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 1015 Chambersburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, with Pastor Carl Harris officiating. A Public Viewing will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of services. A Procession will follow the service to Wenksville Cemetery, Biglerville.
