Denise M. Stubel

Denise Michele Stubel, age 59, of Havertown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from pancreatic cancer. Denise was born on Friday, September 9, 1955 at Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia to Harry and Loretta Stubel. She graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School in 1973 and then worked at Chilton Research Services and United Way of Southeast PA. She attended the Brandywine campus of Pennsylvania State University and graduated from the main campus in 1980 with a B.A. in English. Denise worked at IU International and Franklin Realty before joining Salvo, Rogers and Elinski in 1988 as the first hired employee. Denise worked for the firm for almost 28 years as a certified paralegal where she focused on commercial real estate, and corporate and securities law. Denise was a loving and independent sister, aunt and great-aunt, and her humor, generosity and compassion were always evident. She was a great animal lover, adopting cats, Newt and Sadie shortly after moving into her home in Havertown. 'Neece' was a big Penn State fan and supporter and greatly enjoyed her annual visits to the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and loved preparing meals for family and friends. She was active in local community events and organizations including the Paddock Farms Civic Association. She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Hildabrand and husband Frank of Shippensburg, PA; three brothers, Joe and wife Dottie of Isle of Palm, SC, Mike and wife Pat of Abington, PA and John and wife Deidre of Flower Mound, TX; nieces, Meghann, and Adam Batchelor and son Colin, Grace Stubel and Patricia Stubel; nephews, Harry Stubel, Michael Stubel, Jr. and wife Lauren and Jack Stubel. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Havertown with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors starting at 10:00 AM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
