Dennis “Denny” Lynn Martin, 70, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at his residence in Shippensburg. He was born Thursday, July 22, 1948 in Waynesboro, PA, the son of Lois (Martin) Verdier. Denny was a transportation driver for 31years for Cumberland County. He was a member of Eagles in Carlisle for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed motorcycling, riding four-wheelers, boating and tinkering around his house. He is survived by his companion of 34 years, Nancy Clevenger of Shippensburg, his mother, Lois Verdier of Fayetteville, son, Dennis Martin, Jr., step-daughter, Shelly Tarman and her husband, Jeff of Chambersburg, half-sister, Joyce Bakner and her husband, Randy of Quincy, uncle, Charles Martin and his wife, Linda of Shippensburg, grandchildren and extended family. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Berlin Verdier, maternal grandparents, Alvin C. and Madeline Anna Martin and uncle, William H. Martin. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 28 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg with Reverend Wayne Hall officiating. Private interment will be in Strang Cemetery in Fayetteville, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’s name to American Liver Foundation, Mid-Atlantic Division, 1528 Walnut Street, Suite 2020, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
