Donald George Spangler, 82, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Wabash County Hospital. He was born August 14, 1929 in Aspers, Pennsylvania to Charles and Dora (Bender) Spangler. Don married Ruth I. Rickrode in Mount Holly Springs on September 10, 1950; she died October 30, 1992. He owned Wabash Two Way Radio since 1964, and worked at Wabash Magnetics. Don was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge in Wabash, the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, the Wabash Shrine Club, American Radio Relay League, and the Wabash HAM Club. He attended the Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church. Don lived in Wabash since 1964 coming from Petersburg, PA. He is survived by children: Jane Barlow of Wabash, Lisa (Mary Risher) Spangler of Noblesville, IN, and David (Beverly) Spangler of Kernersville, NC; 4 grandchildren: Kyle (Christie) Barlow and Kristine Solloway, both of Wabash, Michelle (Angel) Torres and Erica Spangler, both of Summerfield, NC; 4 great-grandchildren: Xavier Wilke and Lydia Wilke, both of Summerfield, Tristian Barlow and Tayten Barlow, both of Wabash; and his sister, Ruth Baldwin of Aspers. Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash on Saturday, January 14 at 1:00 PM with David Phillips officiating.Friends may call 4 - 7:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, January 19 at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, with Rev. James Speelman officiating.Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Wenksville Cemetery.
