Donald E. Kauffman

Donald E. Kauffman, age 76 of New Oxford, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford. He was born Saturday, September 20, 1941 in Adams County a son of the late Guy R. and Nancy M. (Harman) Kauffman. Donald was a township supervisor for Reading Township for 17 years. He was a lifetime member of Green Springs Rod and Gun Club, East Berlin Fish and Game Association, New Oxford Social and Athletic Club and the Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club, Inc. During his life he also worked as a fruit farmer and an auto mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and block shooting. He also had a passion for older Ford vehicles. He is survived by his loving wife, Miriam Harner-Kauffman, sons, Eugene Kauffman and Douglas Kauffman, grandchildren, Derik and Leanne Kauffman and great grandchildren, Austin, Sindel and Kameran. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Richards and his loving companion, Peanut. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Kauffman, his brothers, Charles, Earl, Cleason, Robert, Guy and Edgar and sister, Hazel. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6 at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
