Donald “Don or Cowboy” Francis Sillik, age 81, of Aspers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at The Gardens of Gettysburg in Gettysburg. He was born November 20, 1941 in Gettysburg, as the son of the late Ernest Valentine, Sr. and Maybelle (Shultz) Sillik.
Donald attended from Biglerville High School. He retired when he was 62 from Areo Oil Company after working as the Head of Maintenance for many years. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church in Aspers. In his spare time, Don enjoyed working and visiting family.
Don is survived by his daughter, Regina Toner and her husband, Robert, Sr. of Aspers; son, James W. Sillik and his wife, Michelle of Gettysburg; five grandchildren, Skyler Whitcomb, Ashley Macy, Tony Steinhour, Joshua Toner and Robert Toner, Jr.; two great-grandsons, Parker and Brayden Macy; sister, Peg Chronister of Bendersville.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha M. (Shreve) Sillik, who passed March 10, 2019 and his brother, Ernest Valentine Sillik, Jr.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial Services are at the discretion of the family.
