Donna Louise (Slaybaugh) Heyser, age 74, of Aspers, PA has gone home to be with her heavenly father who has prepared a beautiful place for her. She passed away in her home on Monday, May 27, 2013. She was born on March 24, 1939 in Gettysburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Lupp) Slaybaugh. She was the proud mother of Gwen DaHavilland of New Market, MD and Keith Heyser of Hadden Township, NJ, and a deceased son Frederick Heyser, Jr. She was proud of all of them and loved them early. She was the proud mother-in-law of Jackie Heyser, and proud grandmother of Grant, Hillary, and Clay Piccerillo, and Tyler, Jacob, and Olivia Heyser whom she loved with all her heart. She was the sister and sister-in-law of William and Beverly Slaybaugh of Bendersville. She greatly loved her family, co-workers, friends, and church family. She graduated from BiglervilleHigh School in 1959 and HACC in 1985. She worked in numerous nursing homes as dietary manager and cook, and at Gettysburg College as a baker. She enjoyed sharing and giving to others. She belonged to Zion United Church of Christ, Arendtsville all of her life, as well as the Bendersville Fire Co. Auxiliary, The Red Hats Apple Bumpkins, Retirees of Green Acres Kitchen, and AARP of Cashtown. She wasrecently employed as custodian at Aspers, East Berlin, and Bendersville Post Offices, as a Home Healthcaregiver for Care Advantage, and as a volunteer with Hospice of the Good Shepherd. She was the most wonderful mother and grandmother any family could have asked for and she will be missedearly. She was always there to help or lend an ear or shoulder to cry on. She was the closest thing to an angel here on earth. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 31 at Zion United Church of Christ, 3 Gettysburg Streetn, Arendtsville with Reverend Dr. Kim Blocher officiating. A viewing will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 30 at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice 260 W. High St, Gettysburg, PA 17325, or Zion United Church of Christ, PO Box 538, Arendtsville, PA 17303.
