Dorothy M. Dewey

Dorothy Mae Dewey, age 97 of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 10, 2014. Her last eight years, she resided in the Orrstown Personal Care Home in Orrstown, PA. She was born Sunday, October 15, 1916 in Warriors Ridge, Williamsburg PA, the child of the late Ernest B. and Anna May (Gorsuch) Gorman. She is survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Dewey and wife Mary Ann, Robert Dewey and wife Diane all of Shippensburg, James Dewey of South Carolina, Kevin Goss, Steven Goss, Susan Abbott and Karen Goss all of Washington State and sister Annetta Brua of Williamsburg; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great granddaughter. Dorothy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Goss; son, Ralph J. Dewey, Jr.; a sister Grace and a brother George. She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church of Shippensburg, the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary of Williamsburg, PA. She loved cooking and taking care of her family. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Memorial Service will be held at Amberson United Methodist Church in Amberson, on July 20, 2014 at 5:00 PM with Pastor Phil Foster officiating.
